Being gay doesn’t help or hinder one’s performance in the military. The same thing applies to Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. I wish politicians would focus more on global strategies of winning the various conflicts abroad than on the personal sex lives of soldiers.

Congress crapping upon the 4th, 5th and 6th... →
Came across this via Brian Dunbar’s blog. The fact that there isn’t massive outrage about this makes me wonder if America’s future will resemble Brave New World after all.
Even here, the focus is on the inconvenience associated with constitutional challenges to a policy of imprisoning people without charge or trial, as opposed to the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment...

Democrats give up on millionaire tax →
I think this goes to show the difference between the average Dem politician and the average GOP politician. The latter is much more principled (even when it’s on the wrong side of the law). Democrats are (for what it’s worth) pragmatic. This is why Democrats often lose elections.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see that most of this is out of context, but his comments about African Americans would inspire people to vote for Obama’s re-election (assuming he is even able to win the GOP nomination).
