Taxing the rich excessively just doesn't work →
A UK experiment gone bad? Maybe.
Either way if there is one thing I have observed in my short time on Earth it’s that wealthy individuals KNOW how to protect their wealth via tax loop holes.
It’s the reason why some of the brightest accountants work for them. Excessively taxing the rich isn’t going to work in the short or long term.
Perhaps encouraging them to invest...

Iranian warships sail into the Mediterranean →
I wonder if Iran’s strategy isn’t defeating the US in open sea conflict (which their admirals would admit is a near impossible task) but rather driving up the price of oil?
If the latter, then Iran is trying to cash in on the conflict in order to make up for being starved to death by the sanctions.

Mitt has already apologized for this apathetic statement for the poor, but the fact that this is on video means it will be used against him in the general.

Mitt Romney apologizes for insulting the poor →
Truthfully I’m still kinda shocked he uttered his words before. Not only did it make him look heartless, but it reinforced a stereotype that the GOP doesn’t care about the poor.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Democrats use this in the general election.

Finally a country that is not afraid to say “stand on your own 2 feet!” Bailouts are not the answer, as debt only leads to more debt.
Russia Reportedly Signs Deal to Deliver 36 Yak-130... →
This is why many (if not most) sanctions fail. People will simply sell stuff to Russia to reach Syria.
Unless the US is willing to form another “coalition of the willing,” I doubt Syria’s government will collapse from within.

I wish @Gmail had an all inclusive anti-political filter feature available!
I’m tired of politicians and PAC’s emailing me why they think they’re awesome while everyone else sucks.
Worse, I haven’t signed up for ANY of their silly newsletters, yet they keep emailing me as of I was their greatest fan.
Yeah, I could create a filter for each one, but creating dozens of...
Prostitutes pimpin' for Ron Paul? →
I’ve officially seen it all now. At least their active in the political discussion (which is more than I can say about most people).

The more the media looks into this, the more damage Newt (and his supporters) receive.

They may drag out the race with their PAC’s, but if Romney wins in SC their candidates may drop out.

Smart idea as the Mitt brigade turned this into a war against capitalism.
Ron Paul just had the best zinger against Newt!
Watching the GOP debate and getting depressed. Wish the politicians would answer the fracking instead of giving mini stump speeches.

Perry bitter over Iowa loss? →
Apparently he only likes “real Republicans” and blames his loss on a caucus full of…fake GOPers. (via the Blaze)
“This is a quirky place, a quirky process, to say the least, and we’re going to go into places where they have actual primaries and there are going to be real Republicans voting,” he told reporters. “Not that there aren’t real Republicans here in Iowa, but the fact...
Can Ron Paul win in Virginia? →
Now that Virginia’s Attorney General has agreed to respect the rule of law it looks like it will be Ron Paul vs Mitt Romney.
With 10% of the GOP delegates at stake, Ron Paul could have a shot in VA—if he can convince GOPers that Romney is a worse option.

I highly doubt Ron Paul is anti-Semitic, but if I had to choose between him or Obama, I’d choose Mickey Mouse.

Rick Perry: I still oppose Gays in the Military →
Being gay doesn’t help or hinder one’s performance in the military. The same thing applies to Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. I wish politicians would focus more on global strategies of winning the various conflicts abroad than on the personal sex lives of soldiers.

Congress crapping upon the 4th, 5th and 6th... →
Came across this via Brian Dunbar’s blog. The fact that there isn’t massive outrage about this makes me wonder if America’s future will resemble Brave New World after all.
Even here, the focus is on the inconvenience associated with constitutional challenges to a policy of imprisoning people without charge or trial, as opposed to the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment...

Democrats give up on millionaire tax →
I think this goes to show the difference between the average Dem politician and the average GOP politician. The latter is much more principled (even when it’s on the wrong side of the law). Democrats are (for what it’s worth) pragmatic. This is why Democrats often lose elections.
Ron Paul sabotaged his Presidential election years... →
I wouldn’t be surprised to see that most of this is out of context, but his comments about African Americans would inspire people to vote for Obama’s re-election (assuming he is even able to win the GOP nomination).

Truth be told I never saw that coming! If that happens, you’ll see a lot of negative ads (courtesy of Romney) attacking Ron Paul as fringe.

The Newt nightmare just won't end →
All I can ask is “why?!”
An NBC News/Marist Poll poll released Sunday showed support for the former speaker of the House soaring in South Carolina and Florida, making Mr. Gingrich the distinct front-runner for those states’ late January primaries. His performance in the Saturday night debate in Des Moines suggests Mr. Gingrich also remains on stable footing with just over three...

Herman Cain and Nikki Haley: A Tale of 2...
So as many of you know Herman Cain just suspended his campaign for presidency (which for the record I didn’t support due to his thin resume—thinner’s than even President Obama’s).
He still claims his innocence regarding the affair allegations.
Although I have my doubts about most of the women claiming him as their sugar daddy, his reaction to Ginger White’s...

GOP Insanity: Donald "The Moderator" Trump →
Letting Donald “the birther” Trump moderate the debate would be like the Democratic party letting Rosie “the truther” play moderator amongst progressives.
One candidate (Huntsman) has wisely declined, although the fact that the others are showing up makes the who field look hollow.

It’s officially a horrible idea if you ask me. But then again, it’s also a blessing in disguise…for Obama.

Italy Close to Ruin, Germany Pressured to Step in →
Funny how they want the International Monetary Fund to bail them out when their dominant member (America) is saddled with debt themselves.
As far as Germany goes (via the European Central Bank), good luck on that front (as most German citizens are against helping out Italy at all costs).

I guess that explains how Syria and Iran were able to ramp up their nuclear facilities so quickly. If it weren’t for their backing by China, the US probably would have bombed the country long ago.

Islam isn’t a cult last I checked (unlike Druze which is a cult of Islam, similar to how Mormanism and Jehovah Witnesses are considered cults of Orthodox Christianity). Either way last I checked the purpose of most faiths/philosophies to spread. Instead of insulting a rival viewpoint, perhaps he should simply do a better job presenting his? Just my two cents.

Just called Trey Gowdy’s (@TGowdySC) office to voice my displeasure over the “Let’s be like China and Iran” bill (aka the Stop Online Piracy Act, aka SOPA). According to staff he has yet to make up his mind regarding the bill, although he is on the judiciary committee.
Hopefully he uses common sense and votes no, as I have no desire to live out the re-enactment of 1984.
